Hello,
So me and my husband have never built a pc before and we got power to everything and everything hooked up how instructions described and we have a CPU over temperature error. When the bios comes up it starts at 89c and rises the. Shuts down. At first we thought it was the liquid cooling once that got power it did the same thing. We reapplied the thermal paste again. Any advice would help!

We have the ASus strix x99 motherboard
Corsair H115i liquid cooling system
Corsair 750D case
Evga supernova 850 power supply

which CPU do you have?

did you plug the cooler unit into the motherboard? (overtop of CPU socket is usually located the CPU cooling controller)

Did you recieve a "STOCK" cpu cooler with your CPU? if so, install that. If your problem goes away, your cooler is faulty. (taking into account that you hooked up everything else properly)

The CPU is the intel core i7 it didn't come with a stock cooler. The corsair cooler comes with a sata cable and we weren't sure where to plug it in. All the other sata cables are plugged up. All the fans are plugged up.
