Hard drive replacement

I have an Acer 4730z. The hard drive is dead. I have a replacement with no restore disk. Am I out of luck to restore my laptop?

Any chance you have a friend with an Acer laptop with the same OS? Could be worth a shot as Acer will charge full price. If you have to windows key on the sticker on bottom should be all you need as long as the install is a Acer disk.
