Hi, planning to get the Kingston HyperX Cloud II headset and I currently have a Asus Z170 Pro(not the gaming edition)motherboard, would I need a dedicated sound card to utilise the headset's full potential?
Which means to say to a average person I would not observe a noticeable difference with or without a sound card? And the audio chipped on this motherboard is able to support 7.1 virtual surround sound?
yes that right but for the virtual 7.1 surround sound you will still need kingstons software.

It wouldn't matter with a pair of USB headphones because you wouldn't be using that audio.
