Are those burn marks? or what are they?

Just notice some burn mark on my cpus pin contacts. Now my pc cant turned on. Maybe its a burn mark?

If they are indeed burn marks, will they affect function or performance?

pretty difficult to "see" but yeah, it looks like a burn mark.

check your motherboard (doubt you'll see anything, but while both components work, it would be wise to try track down the one that's burning and swap out 1 part instead of 2.

I would assume your motherboard is the one that burnt. Did you do anything silly ? Superclock/SuperVOltage?
