Hello everyone,

I currently have a core i5 3570 3.40 Ghz. I have 12 Gb(DDR3 1600Mhz) of RAM, an MSI GT 610(which i intend to upgrade really soon) and finally i just bought a new SSD of 120 gb. The twist now is to be able to use the full capacity of the SSD i will need to upgrade my board to the MSI B75A-G43 as my current msi H61M does not support sata3. I would like to ask you, since i am on a tight budget- is this pc as from now going to be still performant on a lapse of 5 years ? I intend to use it for photo editing(Lightroom, Photoshop) and also very soon going to start film editings. Can you advise me whether i should acquire the board to have a good performance or i just better sell off the ssd and save the motherboard money for a new pc very soon ?Thank you everyone in advance for your precious input. :)

The thing with video/photo editing is that unlike games it doesn't get naturally more demanding as time goes on, the demand on resources depends entirely on what you're doing. That is to say if you're doing 1080p video now and 1080p video in 5 years you won't see much of a difference in performance, but if you move to 4K video in 3 years you'd benefit from better hardware.
