Good afternoon,
I have an external hard drive SSD 120GB - SanDisk
I have a Mac and I want install Windows on this external hard drive, to do it I need to partition this drive in two ( FAT32 & NTFS).
Using my girlfriend PC with windows, I tried to create more partition using the disk manager but it doesn't work, seems like Windows recognize just the first partition.
After that, I used the cmd/ Diskpart as Admin but when I tried to create the second partition I got an error message that say that there is no more space on the hard drive ( impossible because the first partition is just 350Mb).I tried to download and use third part program to partition disk but nothing! Can somebody help me with this issues?
Thank you.
Eugenio

What did you try? what did you change? what messages did partition wizard show? what does it say in crystal disk info?

Partition Wizard and other software allow me to correctly create the first partition but when I tried to create the second one, a warnin message appear telling me that Windows "can only recognize the first partition" so the second one will not have a config letter (F:, B:, etc.) so I can't do anything with that second partition using CMD or even Disk Utility.

For Crystak Disk Info I tried to see if there was any mistake but the hard drive work perfectly.

a little UPDATE: I think is not a problem related connected to my ext hard drive because when tried to partition another Hard drive HDD I get the same problems.

I just reread the original post, missed that you are using it as an external drive, is it in a caddy or external case or just a usb to sata adapter? you could try making an extended partition and then put a logical partition inside of it, this might help, I seem to recall somewhere that if you try to boot off an external hard drive with multiple primary partitions, it just wont work. extended partitions should work. http://superuser.com/questions/688955/adding-a-boot-partition-to-my-external-hard-drive

https://www.sandisk.com.au/home/ssd/extreme-500-ssd
This is the SSD I am using now.
I tried but i get the same error every time, I can't create more than one partition even using diskpart as Admin.
the only think would be try from a different computer but I don't really rely on that!
