New PC cannot connect to internet

I just finish building my pc. Power it on installed all the latest driver from their website but cannot connect to the internet. I use a Gigabyte B150M-D3H. And another thing the IP address of my new PC is different from my old pc. My new pc's IP address start in 169.254.X.X, my old pc start at 192.168.X.X. Can you help me how to fix this.

Sounds like you are not communicating with the ethernet adapter on your motherboard. Try re-installing the driver for that.

Are you connected directly to the internet connection in the wall or are you using a router? If you are using a router, is it in DHCP mode? If so is your computer set to DHCP also? DHCP simply means that the router is assigning the computer an IP address to the computer.
