Will GTA V look worse on a 144hz monito than on a 60hz monitor if I don't have 144fps?

Hi! I have a decent computer and I run games like CS:GO, Minecraft and another game called Microvolts at over 250fps. But I can only play GTA V at highest graphics with 60-90fps. And I'm thinking about buying a 144hz monitor. But I'm not sure if I want to buy it if it'll look bad on GTA V or any other game I don't have more than 144fps. The answer might be obvious but I just wanna make sure that using a 144hz monitor won't make GTA V feel more laggy than how it feels now with a 60hz monitor.

I personally don't have a definitive answer to what your looking for but i do however have a 144Hz monitor myself. The games that i run below 144 FPS do not suffer from my 144Hz monitor so from my own experience i would say no it wont effect your game play by upgrading to a 144Hz monitor. You should however noticed a nice jump in performance as your new screen will show you ALL the frames you are getting.

refresh rate doesn't have to do with 'looks'
it would still 'look' the same

however some people who are more sensitive will say that it's not as smooth as it should be and feels a bit laggy at times (not as laggy as gaming with 30fps of a 60Hz screen but yet not smooth)
others barely notice the difference

technically speaking it should be similar to be below 60fps on a 60Hz screen (maybe not that drastic because the pictures are still moving instead of seeing single frames)
