Hey guys I have a samsung N150 Notebook whose power button is broken.
This issue happens with many people where the slider breaks but in my case the little piece of plastic that was attached to the also broken slider is now broken because the only way I could turn it on was to poke in a pencil or something and push it.
Is there any way that I can boot my laptop now? I opened it up and tried to find out how the connections work to maybe add in a new switch but that didnt work out.
Any ideas on how to add a new switch in and how the connections work?
Here are some pictures.

You can actually use any type of switch (momentary, normally open) to open the pc, as long as you solder to the two correct pins of the original switch. There's no real danger of shorting out anything if I remember correctly for this motherboard, but be careful once soldered not to pull too hard on the board prints, as they easily break off. You will need good soldering skills and an iron that is less than 50W with ideally a small size tip.

I do not remember the pinout for this type of switch (on board), but you can test this by shorting individual pins momentarily together with a wire or...
well you have four wires into the switch on the top edge.

it looks like the one on the right(#4) is one of the you need but I can not tell which of the other three you would need to connected it to.

my guess would be the other one on the right (#3) but there is not enough to go on.

you would still need some kind of momentary switch to wire to it anyways. so might just be better to replace the mainboard.

I do not remember the pinout for this type of switch (on board), but you can test this by shorting individual pins momentarily together with a wire or jumper. You can then connect the two pins that start up to pc with wires to any momentary, normally open, switch. (mom, n/o)
