Hello everyone.

I'm writing this message because I am in need of help for my new PC build. So let me explain the situation as short as I can.

I'd like to get a gaming computer and get as much as I possibly can with my budget. Now since I live in Europe, in Croatia to be exact, there is a slight issue between price discrepancies between US and EU.

I primarily play Paradox Interactive Games such as Crusader Kings 2, Hearts of Iron 4, Europa Universalis 4 (You get the jist of it), but there are also AAA games that have come out in the past or will come that I would like to play. Such as Batman Arkham Knight, Fallout 4, the upcoming Mass Effect Andromeda and so on. Now I don't need those AAA games to run on absolute Maximum or Ultra, but I like when a game looks nice and offers me smooth, uninterrupted play.

Now onto the budget. As per today's $ to HRK (Croatian kuna, the currency in my country) my budget is 540 $, or 490 Euros. (I might have converted it wrong, so sorry about that, but the budget is in the whereabouts of the money I said).

I've searched the Internet and even this forum for numerous solutions on what to do and what to go for. Skylake, AMD, GeForce and so on. And well now I need your help.

Do I for example go for an AMD processor/ATI card, Intel processor/Nvidia card, or do I combine one and the other. Like for example an AMD processor and an Nvidia Card or Intel processor and ATI Card.

Now comes the problem of the mentioned discrepancies in prices between the US, the EU and now I have to add the price discrepancies in my home country. Let me give you an example. The processor(s) and GPU's I've been aiming at are currently priced as follows:

Intel's i3 6100 is priced at 120 $ dollars at Newegg and 126 at Amazon. Nvidia's new 1050 Ti is priced between 144 and 164 $ at Newegg. AMD's Athlon X4 845 is at 68 $. Athlon X4 860K is at 102 $. The RX 460 4 GB version (Sapphire's) is at 129,99 $ after rebate at Amazon. The G4400 is priced at 59,99 $

To convert it into Euros, add between 20-50 EUR onto the price in dollars. Depends on card manufacturer (MSI, EVGA....) And now we come to the prices in Croatia and the stores around here. For example the i3 is priced at 150 $ when converted, the X4 845 is at 80 $, the 860K is at 97 $ (okay that's closer to US price) and the cheapest G4400 is at 65 $. Onto the cards. The cheapest 1050 ti that I could find is currently priced at 205 $. The cheapest RX 460 is at 156 $.

I hope you are still reading this thread and that you are with me. :)

Now, I was either aiming at going for an X4 860K and Ti build (Yes I know the socket on the processors is outdated) or an i3 and RX 460 build. Or perhaps an option where I could go with a G4400 and a Ti. Now my question is, after you read what I expect from my games and what games I play is what is the best budget build and the best bang for my buck. I should also mention that the price discrepancies that I've written regarding the CPU and GPU are similar when it comes to RAM, MBO, PSU and all. So take that into consideration. Also there is a possibility of perhaps ordering from Amazon or Newegg or some other site that ships to Croatia, and if the delivery costs are not too great. As long as it is within in the budget, I should be okay. In fact if there was a site that offered FREE shipping or small price to pay for shipping, and taking into consideration the prices in US Dollars, I think I would go with that one. But then there is the entire warranty and if something goes wrong scenario.......you know, the shipping, repairs and all.

But seeing how I pretty much got my head spinning with all the part reviews and prices, I need your help. And hopefully you will give it to me. If there is anything you don't understand, please let me know and I shall try to clarify it as best as I can.

Thank you for taking your time to read this, and thank you in advance for your help.

Sincerely yours,

Boky001

Stick with the i3-6100, I have one and it's far superior to anything you can buy from AMD right now.

Thanks for both replies. Especially yours Endless8. However, I must say that I didn't hear good reviews for the EDigital store you picked most parts from. But do not get me wrong, those are very viable options.

But why such a "pricey" MBO and PSU. For example, I can get a decent enough (Or at least I think its decent enough) PSU for far less money. For example the one you put is 550 Watts. I am looking towards either a Corsair VS450 or EVGA 430, both which are around 47 $, while yours is around 88 $. Same for MBO. I don't plan on overclocking or anything, so I was aiming at an MSI H110R or something along those lines, which costs 63 $, while yours costs 74 $. And if I go with the store you picked most parts from (but as I said, I didn't hear good reviews) I would be able to get an i3 and an RX 460 and all you mentioned (minus the PSU and MBO that are replaced with cheaper models)within in my budget, with well barely going over it.

How viable of an option for gaming would a G4400 or G3285 would be?

And thanks for all the help. You did a great job, seeing how you do not speak my language. So thank you once again.

Neither of those would really be viable for gaming especially on 1080P. I'll have to look through that site later and see what I can find but if you're getting an i3, I would suggest getting an H110 motherboard which you can for 339.50 HK (USD $50). You really don't need anything more than H110 or B150 since you're not overclocking and you can't really overclock an i3 to begin with.

Well corsair VS is really cheap psu (look PSU Tier list) and not very good (Tier 4) aswell evga will be better choice (Tier 3 but non modular and 430W only). Mine cooler master is semi-modular (feel the luxury :D tier 3 and 550W) you could pick evga 600b for example but thats not modular, I wasn't converting everything in dollars aswell and I kept in mind that the best will be you get something local (from your country) to avoid expensive shipping. If you find a H110 with even lower price that's perfect :) (that b150 mobo is not bad) and well idk those sites at all didn't know it has bad reputation.

Yeah, apparently very bad rep. Components tend to go "bye bye" and then you have to wait well over 60 days, in some cases people even mention 100+ days for them to solve everything. The one where you found the GPU has good rep, or at least it had. I ordered my current PC from there five years ago and its still working today. So I don't know.....either I "bite the bullet" and order from the bad rep site and hope for the best or I take the sacrifice and go with AMD. Man....all this PC building was a lot easier back in the day. :)

@g-unit1111, where did you find that H110 MBO for that price? I looked around at the cheapest I can find is for 62 bucks.

That was just an estimate. You know you can check and see if stores like Mind Factory and Newegg deliver to your country. I'm in the US, not in Europe, but from my knowledge that a lot of stores in Europe will ship to multiple countries in continental Europe and I don't think you get hosed on import fees or shipping. I know Newegg has been busy setting up European distribution and I think they're in the Netherlands and Germany now. They might be able to ship to your country but it might cost you a bit more in VAT.
