Hi, I just bought a NVIDIA GTX 1080 Founder's edition and plugged it in but PC doesnt boot up or gives any kind of display. No display signal at all and the fan on it runs at 100% as soon as i turn the PC on with the green led GEFORCE GTX lit up on the card. I waited for 5 minutes or so but the situation stayed the same. I had to take the card out and plug back my EVGA 980ti which has been running fine for almost an year now.

My System Specs:

ASUS Z-97-K motherboard
Intel i7-4790K processor
32 GB DDR3 ram (Corsair vengeance)
Corsair RM 1000x (1000w) Modular Power supply
1 x 1 TB Samsung EVO SSD
1 x 512GB Transcend SSD
1 x 2 TB WD 7200rpm HDD
1 x 2 TB Seagate 7200rpm HDD
TPLINK AC1900 PCI-E Wi-fi card
Windows 8.1 64 Bit

I am feeding the card with the 6+2 PCI-E connector that came with the PSU. There are 2 x 8-pin connectors that come with it as well but both of them dont seem to fit into the card as probably they are meant for CPU. Can you guys help me out here? any ways to diagnose or do a step by step process to pin point the issue? the Evga 980Ti runs just fine as I am using it now.

I tried it with HDMI and as well as Displayport and no signal from either.

Do i need to change anything in BIOS? I already deactivated Anti Surge protection and Chassis Intrusion function. Oh and the onboard VGA does not work either when this card is plugged in.

Do i need to uninstall the Geforce driver first but I think that should only matter if it gets to windows right? Waiting for your kind help ! if this card is DOA then it will be hell to have it replaced as I am not in the US and a friend brought it with him from the US.
