So i recently just got a new 480GB SSD and I want to put my OS on it. How do i go about installing windows 8 on my new SSD and what do i do with my current HDD that has windows and my other stuff on it. I would like to use my HDD as a secondary place to store stuff on my PC. If possible i would like step by step process because im not so good with computers. Thanks!

You can clone the HDD to the new SSD. Then, once up and running on the SSD, quick format the HDD and start using it as you wish.
I've used EaseUS in the past with good results. This should help you: http://www.todo-backup.com/backup-resource/data-transfer/migrate-windows8-to-ssd.htm

Btw, some SSDs come with software to do that same job. Or if not "with" the drive, available on the drive manufacturer's web site.
Of course, make a backup or Win Disk Image before proceeding... just in case.
