Can a bad powersupply, or at least a faulty PCI power connector cause artifacts?

I have a corsair 80+ 500 watt psu, and a 660 non ti. Today when I turned on my PC, and booted into windows, I saw little flashing dots on the screen, and other wierd artifacts, I could not figure out why, and began to ruel the gpu going bad as the cause. However, just for the heck of it, I messed with the power connector which was snugg. After I messed with it, the arifacts are gone. The only explanation I have, is a bad power connector, a short in the wire, or PSU is bad. It continued even after several restarts, and did not stop until I messed with the connector. Any thoughts?

Problems with power delivery can cause artifacts, however, the first place to look is GPU memory going bad. If jiggling the cable fixes it that may or may not be the problem. Test it for a few days and see what happens, if it's fixed, great! If not, maybe time for some new parts. Depending on which Corsair PSU you have it might be a decent one, or more likely, it's not that great even though it works, you might want to replace it.
