I have a msi GTX 970 graphics card, an intel core i7 4790k processor, MSI ATX DDR3 2600 LGA 1150 Z97-G45 gaming motherboard 16gb of ram and a 750w thermaltake power supply and on games as simple as Overwatch im getting frames as low as 24. I'm very new to this this is myt first pc build I NEED SUGGESTIONS on how to fix this problem. Also i've run a benchmark test and my score is REALLY low 588 last time i checked (10/22/2016)

Hello.

You have not told us your benchmark software. With which tool did you do it?

Next: is your video card correctly installed in the PCIe x16 port? (the one closest to the cpu) If you installed the card on the farthest PCIE port, you will be limiting your GTX 970.
Download a program such as GPU-Z and show us your screenshot. This will tell us your PCIE connection.

And also, did you update your drivers? Do you use the latest Geforce drivers, or by chance the microsoft ones....? Drivers need to be the correct ones to work correctly.

We'll be awaiting your reply. ^^

usually when fps drop that much it is the cpu thermal throttling

monitor cpu temps while you play a game

Well, your card seems to run at x8, which is okay normally. Ideally it would be at x16, but x8 is just fine for the GTX 970. As maxalge said, check your temps when gaming, using either HWmonitor, Speedfan, or Speccy.

Could you please send a screenshot of that Novabench score? What is your lowest score in that bench?
