Hi!
I'm replacing a DH61WW board and I'd like the replacement to stay with me for a couple of years more and also allow me to do some upgrades (ram or graphics card).

I'm trying to decide between a brand new (but old stock) Biostar TH67+ and a secondhand DELL DH77M01. The USB 3.0, HDMI ports and the 4 DIMM DDR3 slots got me interested on these boards, aside from the fact that these 2 were the only ones I found available in my country after searching online. Which one should I get?

You're welcome!

The "supported by Core i5 -3xxx / Core i7 3xxx CPU" means you need a newer 3rd gen i5 or i7 to support the 3.0 version of PCIE slot. This slot will still work with an i3-2100 processor, at PCIE 2.0 only, since that is the max speed supported by that CPU. If you are not...

Hello.

The Biostar TH67+ is a way better choice than the Dell motherboard. Dell motherboards are considered as OEM, and usually have unique connectors for the power switch, LEDs, etc. You might have issues for the drivers as well.

The TH67+ is well reviewed, has more SATA3 connectors, more PCIE slots, and is overall better on the long run.

Of course, the Dell is a perfectly good motherboard, but you should be sure it is not defective, has all the correct headers, and that you can find the pinouts. If the price is better, it might be a good deal. Otherwise, I'd settle for the Biostar that has drivers for Win10 and is still supported by the company.

Thanks for your reply. I just confirmed from the seller that this board is ver 6.1 so its bug free. I went over the board's manual and read this "•1 x PCI-E x16 3.0 Slot(supported by Core i5 -3xxx / Core i7 3xxx CPU)" . I hope it doesn't mean I won't be able to use the slot with just a Core i3 2100 processor?
Is there anything else I should check out before buying this board? I'm not a heavy gamer and won't be overclocking anything,

If you are not going to push your motherboard to the max, this doesn't matter. PCIE 3.0 has negligible gains compared to PCIE 2.0. Any video card will work at PCIE 2.0 and still give excellent frame rates.

As for anything else needed, I do not think there is much more? If it is tested, has a good version, and looks physically intact, go for it. ^^
