Hi there, so my problem is, I upgraded my firmware in my 850 EVO (EMT02B6Q) , and before that, now my PC starts slower. The thing is, when i check speeds in Samsung Magician, they are pretty normal, and im content with that, but i dont know why does it boot slower than before. I've tried optimizing my SSD, didnt work. I tried reinstalling windows with my wiped and formatted 850 EVO, and didnt work, even the little dots that spin under the Gigabyte logo when is starting up are slower than before. Like it keeps for some seconds showing the Gigabyte logo, whitout the dots, and then they start to spin, but slower. This didnt happen before. Im using Windows 10 by the way.

What do you guys think it is? I can't even find a solution online.

Thanks.

Great job with the troubleshooting so far, @Gxnzalo!
If this is the SSD's firmware fault, then you should definitely get in touch with the manufacturer's customer support for assistance. If they are aware of this issue with the firmware, they might release a new version soon enough.
If you have access to another computer, you should also try checking how the SSD would boot up from there as well. If the same problem occurs, then I'd also consider sending an RMA request to the customer support.

Either way, let me know if you have more questions.

Welcome to the TH Community, @Gxnzalo!

I'd advise you to check your connections to the SSD inside the PC case. A faulty connection is totally capable of making the system boot slower. You should try swapping the SATA cable and the SATA port where the SSD is connected to the motherboard. Just make sure you connect it to another SATA III ( 6 Gb/s) port. If you have access to another computer, you could also benchmark the SSD's transfer speed from there as well. I'd also advise you to take a look at the BIOS settings and determine that the SATA mode for the SSD is configured in AHCI.
Back up all important files somewhere off-site beforehand, though. Better safe than sorry, right?

Let me know how it goes. Good luck! :)

Hi @SuperSoph_WD

I have tried what you told me to do, but unfortunately hasnt been fixed. I tried swapping the SATA 6Gb/s port and the cable, and nothing happened. I have also tried it in another computer, and speeds are pretty normal. Windows 10 is installed in UEFI and I dont think the problem can be from the motherboard, because everything was working flawlessly until I updated my 850 EVO 250 GB to the latest firmware version (EMT02B6Q). AHCI mode was also enabled. As I told you, speeds in Windows are normal, the only thing is the startup. And yes, I have tried also in legacy mode, and it happens the same.

Anyway, thanks for your advice, it made me discard some options. Any other idea of what could be, and if there's a minimal possibility to roll back my firmware?

Thanks a lot.
