Hello all,
Yesterday my internet was working.
Today i turn on my pc, no video output, i reset cmos and it works again. Then the next problem arises.. My ethernet port isn't being detected.
I have tried the following:
Uninstalling via device manager (this now also caused that i can't see the driver, even when showing hidden drivers)
Updating LAN drivers
Resetting cmos.. again
Checking bios for disabled lan

I can't flash the bios, because it is already the newest version.
Specs:
I7 870
Asus GTX 750 TI
Motherboard: Foxconn H55MS W/ Realtek LAN
please help

Then the NIC card is likely dead. Flashing the BIOS or doing a full power cycle and CMOS reset can sometimes bring the back to life. You should still be able to Flash your BIOS even if it's the latest version. Just overwrite it.

If all else fails, NIC cards are roughly 10$ pick one up and be done with it. NIC cards go all the time on motherboard - this isn't uncommon . In fact it happened to one of my boards this year.

It's also possible, but very unlikely, that the case is shorting the NIC and causing it to not function.

Good luck.

This motherboard is a few months old... & my previous mobo has worked for 5 years (still works) and i never had lan controller issues, and it's basically the same chip.

What does the age of your motherboard, or the fact you had one before with no issues mean to this specific issue? Absolutely nothing.

Do you know how many products are RMA'd everyday? Do you know how many components arrive dead at your door? You specifically said it worked perfect yesterday and now it doesn't work at all. You went through the basic trouble shooting steps and your NIC still does not receive power. Logically, we can assume it's dead.

I offered you advice to further troubleshoot. Do a full power cycle. Flash the BIOS, and check for case shorts. If all else fails go buy a card for 10$ or RMA your board.

I know the type of user you are, you ask for help, then cut down the people who tried to help, or tell them their probably wrong as some sort of defense mechanism. With that being said I wish you good luck and I can't help you anymore. Take care.

I'm not trying to cut you down at all. What i'm getting at is that parts just don't randomly die overnight. Especially as it was still detected before uninstalling drivers. I'll try your solutiions
Sorry for coming over rude
