System still won't turn on after replacing PSU, CPU and Motherboard

Hello

I'm really losing my plot with my PC. It started when the system shut down suddenly and wouldn't turn back on again. When I took the a look into the fans would spin for 2 seconds before failing.

I tested PSU with a old one which would then get the system's motherboard working but it didn't have enough power for the graphic card. I replaced the PSU with a brand now one and power that up and to by surprise the monitor, the mouse and the keyboard didn't show any signs on being connected to the PC. After seeking advise I came to the conclusion that the motherboard was damaged because it didn't even beep when turning on.

I've now replaced the motherboard and the CPU and now the system only powers up the fans for 2 seconds because turning off and on again. I've removed the RAM, the graphics card and the drives. What more can I do to fix my pc? I've done everything other than replacing the every single part of it including the case.

Please help because this is really getting me down and costing me money I don't have.

Thank you

Hmmm...
That is bit odd. As in cases which had switch problem either did not start or flashed off for a sec.

Well we should consider all possibilities. Would recommend OP to test the setup out of that case.

I've tried everything now, I've had the CPU & motherboard tested and repaired (even through it's brand new), used 4 different PSU now. I've reset the CMOS and removed the battery from the MB and it's still not work.

All I have pluged in the MB is the CPU, the fan, and the 8pin power and 4pin cpu power and it still doesn't work. I'm testing the motherboard on the box it came so it can't be short cicuit.

I don't know if I'm missing anything. This has been dragging on since before October and it seems to be one problem after another.

You testing it outside the case, right? No SSDs or HDD connected, you have new motherboard, new CPU, one stick of memory, new power supply with all new cables. You have new PC. This is all new problem. Did you follow all troubleshooting guides? How do you power it on? Do not use the switch from the case. Use the screw driver to short 2 pins or motherboard power button. Often the power switch on the case is the problem.

Yep thought of that, but he said that fans are starting up which shouldn't happen if Case button is causing problem.

Still testing it out of the case first is a better idea.

Saying it because I had similar problem. Fans were spinning, even the Error display on motherboard was running and performing all the tests but red led lights were all on and I almost sent back my CPU and Motherboard just to find out that it was switch on the case.

I've got the following

Gigabyte MB - GA-Z97-D3H
Processer - Intel i5-4690 LGA1150
PSU - Corsair RM1000x

These are the only items installed. I'll try it again with one ram but I don't think it'll do anything.

I've got the motherboard on the box it came in and I'm using a screwdrive to to touch the pins to start it up.

The fan on the PSU starts up and in turn the CPU fan starts...after a few seconds the PSU fans slows right down and then the motherboard died. The process starts all over again on it's own until I kill the power.

I blame it on the memory. That is usually the most "fragile" element.

Please offer complete specs when asking about a PC issue. Spoon feeding isn't necessary. We can handle the entire steak.

And out of case. Does your motherboard features power button? Use that or start with the screw driver.

Yeah it's out the case and I use a screw drive to start it. The case isn't connected at all.

To confirm

I have the motherboard laying on the cardboard box with the CPU in and the CPU fan. Then the power is only the 8 and 4 pin power cables.

You now have all different computer that has some different problem not related to your other problem. You have no old parts in it, right? Then I would start with troubleshooting guides found in stickies of this forum. Read the manual and insure you connect everything as expected. Check your cooler.

Hello update, I went through the steps by steps guides to fix the issue and finally it's working!

Next problem...getting the display to work through the graphics card...

Thank you for the feedback and advice.

If the monitor doesn't work via the dedicated gpu use the igp (integrated cpu from the cpu) and look in the bios for the graphics adapter and set it to pcie as default.
When in the bios also look for XMP while you're at it and set this to enabled for best ram settings.
