Need advice on a graphics card for a challenging machine

Here is the machine I have:

HP Elite Desk 800 G2 Small Form Factor Business PC
Intel Core i5-6500 3.2 GHZ GM 2133 4 Channel CPU
16 GB DDR4 RAM (1x16)
256 SSD HD
200 W Platinum 80 Power Supply

It's a work computer, but I need to buy a graphics card for it that won't exceed the 200 W power supply, AND I need a pretty decent card. The computer runs some of our software for our Observatory (space is pretty cool, right?). The card also needs to be a small form-factor.

No, I did not get a say in what machine we had to buy. I would need special permission to change out the power supply, so assume we have to fit all this into the 200W max.

Thanks everyone! I don't ask questions often, I try to be the one to help solve.

Specific cards with links would be greatly appreciated.

With that hardware and PSU...The PSU is just too low. Even the low power, RX 460 and GTX 1050 needs at least 300w. Below these GPU's would be ones that are bout the same as the iGPU it runs off of now.

Just a heads up most desktops with the designation of Small Form Factor (SFF) do not support 75W GPU cards in their motherboards, usually 35-45W max. Otherwise I would be buying and converting the closet full of Elitedesk 8000 SFF series at work into "gaming" computers" :).

No they are not, both of those GPUs are significantly faster than the Integrated Intel 530 graphics of his cpu.

That said neither one will fit in that PC.

Now the reality is the ONLY choice here that would fit in that case is a LP 750ti such as this:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA30R4KR5413&cm_re=Gigabyte_gtx_750-_-9SIA30R4KR5413-_-Product

Both are overpriced for what they are, they are about the lowest end I would go for gaming or intensive apps of any sort. I wouldn't call either "pretty decent".

In theory either one would work on 200w. Yes I know they call for 300, but they can only draw 75w from the PCIe slot, and nothing aside from the RX 480 comes near to drawing that. With a 65w cpu, and 1 hard drive 200w is just about barely enough.

Unfortunately also with an SFF PC there are no options for PSU upgrade, so you're pretty well stuck.

I was talking about GPU's that are below the power draw of those cards, like a 5450.

Ok I see now, thats correct.
