Does Motherboard affect the gaming performance. Fps in games

Hello friends,
I want to know that is there any effect of motherboard on gaming.
I am not going to do SLI.
I will do over clocking but slightly.
My specs-
i5 6600k
Gtx 1060 6gb
As rock Z170 pro 4s motherboard.

Is this motherboard good for gaming on single gpu.?

Yes, the ASRock Z170 Pro 4s is a perfectly good gaming motherboard and will fully support mild overclocking.

Edit: The motherboard will influence FPS by what type of hardware it can support. For example, the Pro4s supports memory speeds all the way up to 3866MHz, while some can only support 2133MHz. In that fashion motherboards are able to influence the quality of hardware your entire rig can support, and by extension what FPS you can expect in games.
