I need some advice.

I'm looking to upgrade my graphics card. I don't know if I should go nVidia or Radeon.... best suggestions for under $250. I don't know what would be too new that the rest of my PC wouldn't like or that I couldn't afford to upgrade as well.

This card I have is still a beast and has held it's quality and value. I'm getting a black and white blinking on and off screen and then I need to force shut down - only when I'm gaming and it's not all the time either. So - what would anyone recommend for the price?
Thanks!
Specs:

Solution
If you're on 1080p I'd go with the MSI RX 480 that's on Newegg right now for $199 (with a $20 MIR to $179). Otherwise, the GTX 1060 6GB is a good card too.

I'd go with the first one (MSI Twin Frozr) but bear in mind your old Zambezi CPU @ stock speed is going to hold it back quite a lot. You should invest in a good air cooler, read up on some FX overclocking guides and see if you can't get it to about 4.3 Ghz. That's would help a lot towards supporting a much more powerful new video card.

Your motherboard isn't the Asus Crosshair V Formula you mentioned in your first post?

A gaming buddy told me that the number on above or below my graphics card is the motherboard. But right there in red, it's says: Asus Crosshair V Formula PCIE_X8/X1_2

So I'm confused now.

My twitch channel to see my inside. If that helps.

This is it - this is what mine looks like:
