So I was unplugging everything from the motherboard to give the board a clean because the heat sink and other components get dusty from time to time, by the way the motherboard I have is the 980DE3/U3S3.

I managed to unplug everything from the motherboard except the 8pin connector on the the board, this is the power to the io ports or cpu i think. Usually you press the plastic leaver to remove the 8 pin connector from the motherboard 8 pin socket, so i squeezed the leaver and tried to remove the 8pin connector from the motherboard but it wouldn't come out and was really stiff.

After being persistent the 8 pin cable removed from the socket but some of the plastic from the 8 pin connector is still in the socket, now im worried that i cant use any other psu with the motherboard and was wondering if there is a way to free up the socket in some way shape or form. thanks

Maybe try to use a pair of needle-nose pliers to get the plastic out of the 8-pin socket?

Yeah it can be pretty hard to pull the 8-pin power cable out, I usually grip the cable loom firmly, pressing the lever with my thumb, and pull it out while rocking it back and forth along the longer axis of the connector to free it up. (If that makes any sense)
