That memory isn't bad at all. I find it a great memory, and two of them would be great.
But do not mix that memory with your current one.

It should work, but mixing RAM has always been finicky. You may have to adjust a few things in the BIOS (speed, voltage) before it's stable, you might not. Good luck.

My advice is look on your existing stick of RAM, a sticker should state the speed, voltage, and timings. Try to make sure your next stick of RAM is similar.

Good call. You don't want to replace the RAM when it is actually the slot. And slots do burn out.

Does it have the brand name and model at least? Try to cross-reference it on Google.

Check the information in CPU-Z for example so you can check the ram speed and latencies.
You should be able to get another 8GB DDR3 DIMM and get it working, (there are always probabilites that something goes wrong, but in my experience it is low in these times). Try to get the same brand, and if you cannot get them, find one with the same specs (Speed, latencies).
I'm currently working in a old desktop with 2x1GB DDR2 Kingston Value RAM and 2x2GB DDR2 Corsair XMS2, and they work together without issues. Also in my notebook, it has 4GB soldered down in the motherboard, and I got a 8GB Kingston Value Dimm to get 12GB and it works great. But always get same spec memories.

RAS# to CAS# delay (tRCD) 11
RAS# Precharge (tRP) 11
Cycle Time (tRAS) 28
Row Refresh Cycle Time (tRFC) 128

According your details, you should aim for DDR3 (non DDR3L) 1600MHz with Cas 11. Basically any standard (non gaming) Ram should be good for your PC, as they come with that specifications (Kingston value series, Corsair value series, etc).
