Hey guys, I'll get to it. I'm looking to upgrade my existing rig from an ASUS Radeon HD 6850 to a Radeon Rx 480. I don't keep up with all the tech regularly and as such I need some help figuring out if my existing rig can handle this card. Here's my specs;

CPU: AMD Phenom II X6
GPU: ASUS Radeon HD 6850
MB: ASUS M4A88T-V EVO
PSU: Raidmax RX-730ss
RAM: 8g DDR3

Any help is greatly appreciated!

1090T is the second best Thuban (1100T is the best)
That processor should be fine for most games, some games you may see CPU bottlenecks but the performance you will be getting with the RX480 would be so much higher than the 6850. I think it would make a decent pairing. Then you can wait until Zen Launches in a month or two (last i checked) and if you need to upgrade do it then. All current AMD sockets are end of life, it doesn't make sense to buy a FX83xx at this point in time.
Sad thing is some Phenom II X6's are better than some of the initial 8xxx series processors in single or lightly threaded benchmarks.

I don't think you will see much of a bottle neck with a RX480 in most games. Either way your performance will be much higher than with the 6850. If you want a new CPU I would either switch to Intel or wait until AMD's Zen comes out.
