4790k and gtx 1070 low framerates in battlefield 1

I have my 4790k overclocked to 4.6ghz and a 1070. I figured that would be enough to run battlefield 1 at ultra settings, yet somehow, it runs at a whopping 50 frames with severe stuttering. I have no idea what to do to fix it, and I've just about given up hope of playing it at high frames. I had used the Asus maximus vii formula bios performance mode, where I got 130 frames, but I kept blue screening, and ended up not being able to keep that stable. Not sure why the 200mhz downclock is messing with my frames so much. Any help would be appreciated. I just want to get this running well.

1920x1080
I got rid of the overclocks and it still runs terrible. It will be 60fps and drop to 40 constantly, and there's a lot of stuttering

Something is definitely wrong. I have an i5-4690k @ 4.0GHz and a 1070 and I was getting more stable framerates than that in the beta at 1440p. With your i7 being clocked higher and having hyperthreading you should not being seeing framerates that low at 1080p.

Have you checked your temperatures and CPU/GPU clock speeds with something like HWInfo while you play? Have you tried playing in DX11 mode? DX12 worked fine for me in the beta but I have heard that some people get better performance in DX11 in Battlefield 1.

Well since I was blue screening so much, I decided to go back to 4.0 because I wasn't seeing very much difference between the 4.0 and 4.6, but the temperatures were fine. They run the same temps as when I have it at normal clock. Idle at 38 and around 68 on load

I ran that last night and maybe saw a bit of improvement with stuttering

well actually I just checked it in CPU-Z and it looks like it is running at 1333mhz instead of the 2133mhz it's supposed to be.

Great, We're on the right track...

Reinstall the drivers and let us know...

Maybe it's running 2666 because if it's at 2133 it should be running at around 1066.5.

You need to multiply by 2...

For example my memory is 1866 and in cpu z I have 933.2 x2 = 1866/

Try resetting your bios to defaults and then enabling the xmp like the guy said...

I went back into the bios and cranked my ram up to 2400mhz like it was supposed to be at and my frames jumped up to 90 fps in battlefield. I figured that it had to be something other than the processor that was doing it, because the motherboard boosted a bunch of stuff. I can't believe that something so simple make that drastic of a difference.

Thank you so much. It really is. I guess this will be the first place I go to next time I have an issue, instead of spending days trying to fix it myself xP
