Okay My rig is kinda old, G41-P23 motherborad, xeno quad core e5420 cpu, geforce gt 440 gpu, and I just bought a new HDD an a SSD and a new power supply as well. The thing is 1 month ago my old hdd died and i just left my rig to bite dust, until I buy new HDD. I bought it installed it and a new SSD, tried to boot it, it goes as far as windows 10 logo screen and then it just shuts down. I checked and I saw that the power supply unit's (old one) fan is not working and that some of parts inside are burned. I went to the shop and got a new one installed it and I got the same result. Any ideas what it might be? Any help would be appreciated, my thanks in advance:)

Solution
Have you made sure BIOS is set to UEFI for type, and AHCI for sata type?

If your old psu died and it was not a very decent quality unit it could be quite difficult figuring out if any other parts are damaged.

I kinda went in just bought any i could afford right now, my rig does not require that much power, The maker is Zeus, 560W but I think at best it is 390W

Is it possible that this keeps happening because I am trying to install OS on SSD?

installing the OS on a ssd or not should not matter.

Since you mentioned your old PSU had some burnt parts on it, its quite possible the old psu could have damaged other parts of your system.

If you havent already, unplug the old hdd that died and set it aside.
I assume you are trying to install win10 for the first time? or did you have an existing installation you want to fix?

Old PSU was high quality but old (chieftec high end unit from 2008), it did not quite died but it was on it is last legs too. I just tried it on a old old 939 socket setup it can boot it but since the fan is dead it overheats fast and I shut it down. I might try that with BIOS, I ll keep you guys up the speed, thanks.

UPDATE

Okay guys I have found out why does my pc just randomly shuts down after 3,4 mins even when being idle in BIOS. When in went in cpu features I saw my CPU temp is through the roof. I kinda doubted that so I opened the case i let my pc work and when it shut down i removed the cpu cooler and the cpu was cold. I guess there is something wrong with the motherboard :(

UPDATE 2

Is it possible that the motherboard is giving a false positive temp of the cpu?

UPDATE 3

Guys I have fixed it, it was the cpu cooler all along, I have just changed it and It works fine. Thanks for all the replies, you have have made me look in right direction, thank you so much guys you are awesome!
