I had read somewhere that there is differences between these SSD models. and also, that there is model which is not 3D V-NAND, just V-NAND.

as I found so far, model with name MZ-75E1T0B should be what I want - 3D V-NAND, with 1GB cache LDDR3, and newer MGX controller.

there is link to picture which I uploaded, which contain both pictures of these SSD packing (and they are different) :

I'm from EU so I would like to order it from EU, Ebay or some shop.

but please, somebody who knows more about this let me know how I can check and be sure to get exactly model I want.

also, why there is different packings? is that just packing difference, or SSD are different really.

tnx

It's the same drive.
"3D V-NAND" is the same as "V-NAND"
3D Vertical vs Vertical.
It's just a marketing/tech term, and different packaging.

They could say Left Circular Polarization vs Right Circular Polarization vs 4D Stacking and it would make exactly zero difference to thee and me.

Again..it's the same drive.

Yes, it appears to be the same drive.

If you go down and read the fine print at ebay:

"3D V-NAND Technology
Samsung’s innovative 3D V-NAND flash memory architecture...."

It's the same drive.

Personally, I'm not a fan of buying things like this from ebay.
Primarily, due to things like this:
"Returns: 14 days, buyer pays return shipping"

Looks like it is not same drive.

There is newer 48-layer v-nand, and that is "evo 850 V2" model, compared to 32-layer v-nand "V1" model.

In 1tb models, V2 uses MGX controller and LPDDR3 cache, and V1 uses older MEX controller and LPDDR2 cache.

You can find more on these links, including tests between V1 and V2

Also, in this first link, scroll down to last comment, it say :

"Versions can be seen from the revised packaging: Instead of the orange lettering "Powered by 3D V-NAND Technology" now adorns a "V-NAND" lettering with blue "V" on the box."

Because this ssd is very popular and with really good price and performance, we all need to be better informed about its details, changes and improvements.

There is not big difference in performance as I can see, but newer version is slightly faster with small files.

But it draws less power.

Wow good catch honey. I am kind of surprised that Samsung didn't make a bigger fuss about the changes, but considering how well the 850 EVO sells they probably don't need to, or want to confuse potential buyers.

if you ask me, both drives are great anyway, and there is no any big difference.

but of course, they had to provide more information on it, and add something into product name. Samsung EVO 850 V2 for example.
