My computer is an HP 6597c
Motherboard is Foxconn 2aa9
12gb ram ddr3
CPU is AMD Phenom II X6 1045T
Power supply is a Thermaltake 450 watt
Windows 7

I got this card or free. If it is not compatible what can I trade it for?

EDIT: I somehow got my pc into safe mode and I went to device manager and it recognized it then after rebooting it doesn't load bios

I looked over at hp forums to see whats reported on your model and -0- to nothing good or bad

like from for this model

I have not cleared CMOS I will google how to but how from your perspective should I go about doing this?

I did a fresh install of windows 7 and downloaded the drivers from nvidia.(the gpu's fan was not spinning) I rebooted and got. BSOd something about driver has overrun stacked based buffer

most times NO

a lot of card are not compatible with some prebuilt models . there proprietary boards and proprietary bios quite a few can only use 600 series cards or lower some up to low end 700 series like a lo pro 750ti .

like a 900 series and up card requires an full uefi bios and with like a hp that only came on models with win-8 and so on ...

my disclaimer

some models of store bought computers [dell.hp,acer,ect..] may come with a ''locked or fixed'' bios and may not allow you to change certain hardware as a video card.. this is done to protect them from undue warranty claims and refunds .this is not done to hurt you but to protect them. you really need to see if that upgrade has been proven to work in your model first before you invest money in it .. there are a lot of these threads here at toms to look at some models will allow upgrades and some dont.. and a lot of guys here say ya ya ya when is really no no no...it would be sad you spent $200 on a card that wount post after you installed it as most find out. then get told its your psu and you spend more and end up right back where you are now, but its up to you good luck..

you got to know the the boards in these computers are not like the ones we use to do custom builds witch are open to upgrading with in the boards compatibly . the bios is custom made for there design and just for the parts they authorize to be used on there computers there only guaranteed to work as is out of the box as you bought it ,..

also these boards do not have to meet atx standards and there pci-e slot power may not do the required 75w needed for most higher end cards and can be limited to say 45 or 60w that is all thats needed with the low end factory oem cards that it may of shipped with

There are two pins on the motherboard that have CMOS printed next to them that you can put a screwdriver across to clear it, or you can take the battery out for ~10-20s. Have you run a memory test on the RAM and is it running at stock speed?

Damn I completely skipped this being an HP, I guess I need to read the whole thing next time. I just saw the motherboard and the processor and thought it was custom. Is there any text printed next to the PCIe slot?

Six (6) beeps is a pre video graphics failure. This usually means that the graphics card video BIOS is not compatible with the BIOS in the PC. The HP h8-1110 is 2.5+ years old since first release. The GTX 750 is relativity new manufacured graphics card. I don't believe that HP will release another BIOS update for the H9-1110.

see its all your own risk you buy , you try , and hope it don't make you cry . welcome to the world of prebuilts

lol ..see here how the HP guy don't admit to the ''locked'' bios thing ?? thing is he knows it locked and little to nothing in there propritory bios offered are compatable with any hardware hp don't fell they want you to use on there boards .

then he goes on to blame NVidia and evga ???? what a joke
