Hello everyone, I keep getting messages saying that my firewall is turned off. I am using AVG Anti-Virus and the firewall on AVG is turned on. Why am I getting messages? This has me paranoid. I don't know what is going on here. This has never happened before. When I try to turn on my firewall through the control pannel, nothing happens. I have tried to restart my PC and it still comes back. Thank you to anyone who can help!!

Solution
If you can't turn on the Windows Firewall that is often not a good sign. Although the AVG program may be interfering with it. Go to the notification options and you should see in there a setting to ignore the firewall message or say that you have your own firewall running. That is not a big deal if you have a Router, the Router has it's own firewall in the hardware.

Thank you for the input :) It turns out it was my AVG interfering I believe. It did an automatic update for a trial of the full version and the full version has its own firewall. So it must have been an interference between the two. I went back to the free version and have not gotten the error, and I checked the windows firewall and it says it is working :) Thank you!
