Power Supply Gave Odd Smell

My Corsair CX 600W PSU has been working perfectly. However I had found that the fan on the power supply should be facing down, and I had it facing up. So I flipped it so the fan was facing downwards.

While using my PC, I found an odd smell coming from it. Took me about 2 days to realize it was coming from my PSU, and that the fan was stuck. So I used a flathead screwdriver to move the fan, and then it started spinning, and then everything is fixed.

Just curious: Could any of my parts have been damaged through the process of a computer running on a fanless power supply? Also, after smelling around my PC for a while, I started to get sick, and I currently have a sore throat. Does the PSU contain any harmful chemicals that could affect me? (Thought it was worth asking... There's no way this can be a coincidence)

Also, the CPU and GPU temps were about 5-10 degrees hotter than they were before the fan stopped working for that period of time.
