This all-in-one pc is just sitting in the corner. I was wondering if i could buy a case where I can switch over the the internals. If not I would like to use the CPU in a smaller motherboard close to a nuc. Or is it even worth salvaging my parts?
As far as I can see, it seems to have a standard desktop processor. So you should be able to get any 1156 motherboard to place the CPU, but you should get new ram.
In my opinion, I would follow what ComputerSecurityGuy said, just upgrade the internals, and if you need to use a better display, connect it via hdmi.
Moving the board would be a pain. You can do some upgrades though. You can bring the CPU up to an i5-6xx, add 2x4GB of RAM and a SSD. No speed demon but it would have decent performance for non GPU dependent stuff.

That is what I thought about at first but the screen is outdated and has poor viewing angles and color. I would have preferred to salvage the parts since it just sits there. Would the placement of the cpu in a smaller form factor be worth it? I know its old so not many motherboards are compatible.
