Yeah, that will do the job assuming you've chosen high quality brands and products. If you're building from scratch however, I'd recommend looking into doing an intel build instead of AMD, I could go on to tell you a bunch of reasons for this, but do a little research on it, it doesn't take long to find a bunch of reasons why investing in the AM3+ line is not a good call.
Your call though, if you have good reasons for an AMD build, or if he already has some of this, so be it, just letting you know that there are far better options out there for around the same price.
