I currently have a intel Celeron G1620 (@2.7Ghz and 2 cores no hyperthreading) and I want to swap it for a intel i3 3220 (@3.3Ghz and 2 cores w/ hyperthreading) will I have to reinstall windows or not?
The motherboard is Biostar H61MHB (I know it's a really bad one but that's the only thing I have right now) and the only problem is that it does support 2nd generation cpu's but I need to update the bios. How do I update the BIOS too?
Thanks in advance.

I already know where I can download the updates, but my main questions are "Will I have to reinstall windows after cpu swap?" and "How do I update the BIOS?"
Thanks for the answer anyway.

Reinstall Windows? Probably not
Update the BIOS? When you find the correct BIOS update you need, you will also find the specific instructions. Follow those exactly. No deviations, no skipping steps.

Thanks for the answers regarding Windows, but I've looked up BIOS updates and everything I found was .ROM files and I have to install .BSS files just to update the cpu microcode to support 3rd generation cpu's (to my i3 3220).

What link, from the manufacturer, have you found that specifically talks about the steps to update your exact motherboard to support that new CPU?

This is the link > http://www.biostar.com.tw/app/en/support/faq_content.php?S_ID=513
But on the website it says literally nothing on how to update the microcode, just says that I need to do it if i want to use a 3rd gen cpu.

Thanks for the answer it's really helpful but I can't find the BIOS Update Utility software anywhere on their website.Do I even need that?
EDIT : It even says my dvd has the software on it but nothing opens when i run the damn thing, not a single setup file or anything.

After trying to find the Online Update Utility with no avail, I installed it with the BIOS Flasher with no problems, now I just need to see if the processor will work.
Thank you very much USAFRet!
