Hi there, i'm really hoping this is in the correct place, Tom's hardware has really helped me out before when I initially purchased my PC. Here I am again before I upgrade.
My PC specs are:
Factory built asus m51
Intel core i7 4770
Processor speed 3.4
Processor cores 4
Ram 12 gb (ddr3 1600mhz)
2tb hard drive capacity
7200rpm
Optical drive bd combo
Windows 10
Came with nvidia gtx 660? however upgraded to a 760
Dedicated graphics card
1gb video memory
Upgraded power supply to 600w when I upgraded the gpu

Now, my question is am I able to upgrade to a newer (better) more powerful graphics card with these specifications. Would it just drop in and start making my gaming performance better? Would the overall specs support this graphics card? And lastly would the graphics card fit into this computer's frame.
I also would like a reasonably priced new graphics card recommendation from you knowledgable people, I was thinking perhaps the gtx 970? Thank you all very much for your replys, people on this site have been so friendly and helpful in the past.

Solution
If you upgrade a GTX760, make it a big jump or you may be disappointed. GTX1060 or even GTX1070.
Both will run on your current psu.
Neither is an overly long card, so fit would not be an issue.

You may want to upgrade the graphics driver, but that is not a problem.

If it will fit I will go with the 1070. There seem to be a lot of different kinds of the same card available, which one do I get? And by update drivers is that something the guy in the computer store can do when he installs it?

If you are having a store install it, then the tech should also see that the drivers are up to date.

GTX1070 cards differ mainly in the amount of factory overclock and how fancy the coolers are.
Ultimately, there is not a whole lot of difference.
I would avoid those enthusiast cards with excessive factory overclocks and liquid coolers.
