Specs: i5 6500, 16gb DDR4, Corsair 750M, MOBO Gigabyte z170A.

I built this whole computer from scratch, the last part being the graphics card. For about a week, I ran the computer with no graphics card at it worked fantastic. I got my SC GTX 1060 6gb and hooked it up no problem to the x16 slot where it's supposed to go. I boot, no screen. I reseat it, boot, no screen. I completely remove the card and boot.....BOOM Display! ????????????????? All parts are BRAND NEW. I have NO idea what the problem is and it is driving me insane.....

Okay. Just to be sure, you connected the monitor directly to the card when you installed it? The monitor needs to be attached directly to the card, as the connections on the rear of the motherboard will be disabled.

If your 8-pin connector is connected, the BIOS is the latest, and the monitor is correctly attached, and you have no picture....I would think about having a faulty video card. I suggest borrowing if possible another video card and testing it in your PCIE slot.

If it works, your GTX 1060 is either incompatibile (highly unlikely) or defective. Try the video card in another computer to test this.

If no card works in your slot, then your motherboard is most likely defective.

Hello.

Have you correctly connected the power to the video card? This video card needs a 6-pin connector for power. You can find this connector on the bottom left of this picture:

If it is connected, you should try updating your BIOS to the latest version using your onboard graphics, then trying the card once again. Sometimes these cards need a BIOS update to function correctly.

The 1060 I have is much larger and has 2 two fans with an 8 pin and that is what I connected it with. The BIOS is up to date minus the beta update.
