Hey Guys,
Title says it all, not just steam games (for example, Dota 2 is locked at 62fps and so is Overwatch)
I have a XB240H Monitor which is a 144Hz monitor so VSync shouldnt be doing it (i have tried turning it on and off)
I have a GTX 780, and I feel like its a program because 62fps is a bit of a random number considering my old monitor was 60Hz.
Thanks

Using the 3D Application setting should work fine, you shouldn't be having the problem unless either the games you're playing are using Double Vsync, or you have some other program that is limiting your framerate. If you have MSI Afterburner with RivaTuner Statistics Server installed, you might want to check to make sure you don't have a global framerate cap enabled on that software.
Check your Nvidia control panel and make sure the Vsync setting isn't set to half refresh rate globally. Make sure your desktop resolution is actually running at 144Hz. Also how are you connecting your 144Hz monitor to your graphics card? You need DisplayPort or Dual Link DVI, HDMI won't work as the GTX 780 only has HDMI 1.4 support which caps out at 1080p, 60Hz.

Using DisplayPort to connect the monitor, I have a counter at the top of my screen saying 144Hz, Nvidia control panel says 144Hz as well. The only thing different is that the Vertical Sync (under Manage 3D settings) is set to "Use the 3D application setting", should I just turn it off?

So I just reset the Global Settings under Manage 3D settings, which worked to an extent, I launched Dota 2 and got 144FPS, then decided to try Overwatch, which at first seemed like a failure as the menus are capped at 60fps, but actually gameplay is around 90-100 (no higher than 100 ever). I checked to see if RivaTuner Statisitcs is open and its closed.
Very Weird...

Could be you're either GPU bound of CPU bound with Overwatch, it is a good deal more demanding than Dota 2 is when targeting really high framerates. Might want to check your GPU and CPU utilization with Overwatch, if you have CPU cores maxed out, or the GTX 780 is running at 100%, then your framerates are no longer capped by software and 100FPS is simply the maximum you can achieve at your current settings and resolution.

Yeah I lowed the graphic settings all the way and with vsync on i was getting 144fps, so it seems like resetting the 3D Settings in the Nvidia Control Panel worked (for some reason), thank you for the aid! I would assume its my CPU letting me down in Overwatch as it is an i5-4570, but that is an issue i can attempt myself ;)
