Hi,

I have an s340 case and an trying to connect the fans to the mobo. The back fan has a normal fan connector but the top fan has the leads for the power button etc. Will those leads power the top fan or do I need a splitter?

The leads for the power button carry no real amounts of power. All it does is join a signal to the motherboard circuitry to power the board on. It won't even power a LED light, so connecting a fan header to it in any way will not allow it to run. Read the manual for the case and compare the leads to the motherboard you're putting in there. The fan should either have a dedicated 3 or 4 pin connector, OR join to a distribution block which allows one fan header to power multiple fans. But, all of those fans (usually!) follow the typical fan header spec. You just have to find out where they'll reach an appropriate header on the MOBO.
