Corsair Vengeance 1666mhz not working on asus 1333mhz motherboard please help ??

i bought new corsair vengeance 1666mhz 4gb ddr3 ram , and my pc specs are

Motherboard = asus p5g41t-mlx3 bios version is 0209

processor = intel dual core E5800 3.20ghz

graphics card = nvidia gtx 610 2gb ddr3

and i have normal 2gb ram of 1333mhz ,, i want to use my corsair ram , please help me

when i switch on my pc , i see that its only showing my older ram (2gb) , it wont show my corsair 4gb ram

Mixing RAM is very likely to not work. Start by trying JUST the new RAM in the first memory slot. You are running a really OLD BIOS. The latest version on the Asus website is 1101 (you say you have 0209). You could TRY a BIOS update with your 2GB memory installed. Then try just the 4GB memory. If that works, then you might get the other RAM to work by MANUALLY setting the RAM parameters in the BIOS. BUT, don't be surprised if you are unsuccessful in getting the mixed RAM to work.

What's the model of the new DRAM - guessing a newer model of DRAM (post 2010) which are made with high density memory ICs, where your mobo was designed to the pre 2011 DDR3 made with low density ICs (chips). Look for the older line of GSkill NT series of Value DRAM, which was made with low density ICs
