Hello everyone.

I wish to upgrade my ram and video card and want to ensure that the pieces are compatible with my motherboard and need some advice on picking memory.

Motherboard - Gigabyte Z97X-Gaming 3 LGA1150

Upgrades

Your motherboard requires DDR3 ram, not the DDR4 in your second link.
Fancy heat spreaders are useless and can conflict with some coolers.
If you like Corsair, go to their web site and access their ram configurator.
Enter your motherboard and you will get a list of supported kits.
I might opt for the low profile LPX. And.. There is very little value in buying ram faster than 1866 if you are using a discrete graphics card.
