Hello,

I have an Intel DG43RK motherboard. I just bought 3 new Corsair 2gb 1333mhz ram sticks, but my pc beeps (3 long beeps) if atleast one of the ram sticks is installed. I have 1 Kingston 2gb 1066mhz ram stick in it right now and the pc works fine. The latest BIOS version had a fix (Added memory support for DIMMs with 2Gbit SDRAM density) which I might need. So I thought I have to update the BIOS, so I downloaded the BIOS update file and put it on a flash drive. I restarted my pc and the PC booted off the flash drive. The DOS prompt showed up and I typed in the following command: ''IFLASH2 /PF RK0088P.BIO'' and hit enter. The system hanged for like 2 seconds and it rebooted as if nothing happened. The BIOS did not update and the PC is usable.

The motherboard should accept 1333mhz ram.
The RAM has been tested on a different PC with no problems found.
Why did the pc restart when I tried to update the BIOS?
