Hi everyone,

I am new here,
I decided to join the community since I intend to build my own PC
Could you kindly help me see if this build will be good enough?

http://pcpartpicker.com/list/vHsc4C

Is there anyway I can save some money? (example, reduce power supply, change ram?)
Since I am only getting i5-6600 I am guessing Ram should just be at 2133 Mhz right?

Does an expensive cooling as well as case important for my build since I am not doing any OC?

Thank you so much!

The Z170 Pro4 is having a slight price reduction + a $25 rebate (a quarter of its price) + combo buy with i5 6500 knocking another $15 off. Which unlike the bottom end MSI which is frankly just there for the higher speed RAM or cheap SLI-support; the Z170 Pro4 can actually do good overclock when paired with the appropriate unlocked CPU.

Switched the case to the Phanteks P400S, similar enough in functionality while being cheaper.

i5 6500, and all Intel Skylake CPU without the K suffix do come with an Intel stock cooler that is sufficient for general use.
The RAM speed have to do more with the motherboard than the CPU since Intel locked all lower tier chipset (H110/B150/H170/etc...) to 2133Mhz, only allowing higher clocked DDR4 for the Z170 (or X99).

And standard cooling is enough for most build. When and if you want an SLI/Crossfire + overclocking CPU then extra cooling would be a factor.

Z170 motherboard is not necessary if your not going to overclock, and since your not getting a K skew you do not need a aftermarket cooler. Skylake does not get hot at all I actually own a i5 6600 and even while running benchmarks or video editing software (with 100% CPU usage) I do not pass 72c.

Nothing wrong with a Z170 mobo as it does give you the ability to BCLK overclock the CPU as long as you do not update the bios to the latest version. You will need a certain BIOS to use the BCLK overclocking however.

Jet.com has a promo going on where first time user's get an additional 15% their first three orders. That's where I got my i5 6600 (altho I had a different discount code and got it for $180). You can save some money there if you like but it will not be a ton.
