I want to try out this XMP overclock thing. I am new to overclocking and i dont want to do it manually because i am a bit scared. I want to know if the XMP overclock is safe for my system.

PC specs: AMD FX 8350 4.0ghz, AMD Radeon R7 370 4gb, 8GB ADATA DDR3-2133 XPG V3, MOBO: Gigabyte 970A-DS3P AM3+, and a 600W PSU.

I have four 120mm fans in my PC. I use a CORSAIR Hydro Series H50 120mm for CPU cooling.

XMP doesn't overclock anything. It merely allows the motherboard to detect and load the profiles that have been set in your memory. AMD FX series can have stability issues with anything faster than DDR3 1866. You can try it. You might be lucky and have an 8350 with a memory controller that can handle 2133.

It won't make a difference though and you will be hard pressed to tell the difference even using benchmarking software. Real world difference will be 0.

Xmp profile is just for ram. Usually when you install ram its set at a speed of 1333mhz. After you enable xmp profile you will just make the ram go into its rated speed. For example if you have 2133mhz ram. At first it will be at 1333mhz after enabling xmp your ram speed be set at 2133mhz as it should be.
