gt640 stuck at idle speeds and the temps are not high

every now and then my gt640 will be stuck at idle core and memory speeds which is 324mhz i tried restarting my computer multiple times and letting it sit for about 5 minutes completely unplugged and i held down the power button to let the electric out. any ideas whats causing this?

Is it that way under load? Stress it and see what clocks.
Also try using display driver Uninstaller to uninstall drivers and install it again.

iv tried changing drivers before (because the newest driver from nivida makes every game instantly crash on it unless i underclock it) and i was just playing csgo on it and it was locked at 324mhz on core and memory clock

im downloading unigine heaven and im gonna keep trying different things, if i cant get it to work then im going to have to put my 9800gt in this pc and use it until i can get a new card

i think its an afterburner bug, i uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled them (with afterburner still installed) and it didnt work then i did it again with afterburner uninstalled and the problem was fixed
