I have Hp envy 15 laptop with Toshiba's 1TB 5400rpm HDD. It's making me laptop slower so I'm planing to buy an Intel 180Gb ssd and use it as primary drive and using my old HDD as secondary drive for storage with it.
What I want to know is how much change in battery timing I'm going to experience. With optimum use my laptop gives 5+ hours backup. How much decrease it would show after the up gradation?
Power consumption for SSD is
While idle. 0.6W
While writing 0.85W
For HDD:
Spin up(start) power 4.5W
Seek power 1.85W
Read/Write 1.5W
Low power Idle 0.55W.
Any tips would be appreciated.

prob wouldn't notice to much change. I would say 15/30min change at most. could be less depeding on actual usage as you will see gains from the spinning drive speding more time at idle.
