i3 6100 would win due to the higher single core performance, and with HT on, it will not fall too short compared to the 4 core i5. i3+1060 it is
however you seem to have some CPU heavy games, so getting the i5 will not disappoint. The i3 is respectable match, but in certain cases the i5 is needed and the 1050ti will provide enjoyable performance.

I just looked it up too, i was damn surprised. Always thought that the higher the numbers are, the faster it was.
I thought that all Skylake i5s would be faster than all Skylake i3s.
