3 weeks ago my dad installed a new free hg633 "super" router from talktalk and ever since I have been suffering from lag spikes. If that wasnt bad enough i now suffer from regular connection drops where my wireless adapter loses connection and has to reconnect to the router.
I have tried the following, without success:
Using a different router
Changing cables
Contacting my isp
Engineer visits
Testing ping on different devices
Testing in a wired state
Factory resetting the router
Searching online for solutions
Some other information:
Router: HG633 super router
Internet is fibre from openreach
Usb adapter: Netgear AC1200 high gain wifi USB adapter
PC specs
Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4670K CPU @ 3.40GHz
Video Card NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970
RAM 8.0 GB
Operating System Microsoft Windows 7 Professional Edition Service Pack 1 (build 7601), 64-bit
