Approximate Purchase Date: In about 1 or 2 months from now

Budget Range: $1000 - $1500 (before shipping)

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming, Video editing, everyday work.

Are you buying a monitor: No

Parts I'm Keeping: Video Card (980 ti)

Parts to Upgrade: CPU, RAM, PSU, Motherboard, CPU cooling (maybe?), another GPU (maybe?)

Do you need to buy OS: Yes

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: newegg.com

Overclocking: Maybe

SLI or Crossfire: Maybe

Your Monitor Resolution: 2560x1440

And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: I'm mainly upgrading because i'm trying to make a powerful rig unlike the one I currently have now. I want it to look nice as well cause right now it isn't so pretty. I have a strong GPU (980 ti) but everything else in my PC doesn't compliment my 980 ti. I'm basically trying to get the best Motherboard, the best RAM, the best PSU for my budget.

Plus a GTX 1080ti when it comes out. It'll be worth it at your resolution.

You should, ofcourse, ask again before you buy as these things change.

LOL. It would seem that we are in agreement :)

I know alot of people are saying i7 6700k but since you want video editing you'll need a 6800k. Not a big performance different in gaming but big difference in workstation tasks. Get a 6800k with a asus x99 rog strix gaming.

Although the word ''NEED'' doesn't really do that justice though. a 6800k might just benefit more, although this really depends on which type of video rendering he does.
