KVM switch takes several tries

I have 2 computers connected to a KVM switch. One works fine, the other on cold startup requires several switchings before it will keep the monitor on. I have tried 2 different KVM switches and the same computer still requires several switchings to keep the monitor on. I have swapped out the video card and the same problem. Oddly enough, if after using the computer in question for a while and then restart it or reboot it, the problem is not there. I think it must be either the power supply or the mother board that "heats up" and cures the problem.
Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

ok i see ... i understand now HIHI!!

ok so by switched out to an Hp monitor solved the problem... so the resolution of the screen maybe too hign on the dell or maybe the kvm switch is tired a bit ...a lot of issues with this model

ok if by changing the monitor it solved the problem ...you are ready to go

The problem is with the monitor. If I leave the monitor turned on overnight, the system starts right up with no problem next morning. I have changed out the monitor and all is now well. As to why, I have no idea.

Both are identical, Gigabyte GA-M55SLI-S4 mother boards, win XP PRO Sp2 64 gb with 16 gb memory, and a Dell ATI-102 graphics card feeding into a Dell monitor, switched out to an Hp monitor which cured the problem The KVM switch is a 2 hole Iogear."
