Hey all.
Im at a loss when it comes to the hardware components, So Im looking to the more tech savvy for advice on how to proceed.

I have a Gateway SX2380-EW378 Motherboard. Running at AMD-A8 5500 APU with Radeon HD 7560D embedded graphics. 1TB HD, 10GB of ram.

The graphics chip seems to be failing, as after an hour or 2 of simple gaming, the graphics seems to crash to a much larger display setting, then blacking out completely and the monitor not finding a connection. This resolves itself after a day or 2 of being unplugged.

Id like to play Final Fantasy 14 with my brother, and I know ill need to do something about this. My issue, I have no clue what Video cards to look at, what will FIT. Ive tried to lookup info on my motherboard but am getting alot of mixed information.

Do I purchase PCIE? PCI? And what steps do I take to install it and tell the gateway to not used embedded, but use the new card?
Can anyone recommend a great card at decent price that will work well with this MB? Your replies and direction are greatly appreciated!!!

Update: Not looking to update other components such as Power supply etc. Just looking for the best graphics card that should work with the current stock setup.

Eh, I dunno if a new GPU will "fix" your problem, it sounds like something else could be going on. A new GPU will certainly greatly improve your FPS though.
An Nvidia GTX 1050 would fit welll with your system (and shouldn't require any extra power connectors, some 1050Tis might, but their specs sheets will say if they do)

But try the following first to see if your games start working again at least:
If you have graphics or driver issues, one of the most common fixes is a clean uninstall and removal of your graphics drivers.

To uninstall your drivers, first download and run Display Driver Uninstaller, and follow it's recommendations of booting into safe mode and ect.
(This is a direct download link so you don't grab the wrong version)...

I'd say the 1050Ti from NVidia. You COULD fit a 1060 in, but your power supply probably doesn't have a PCI-E power connector thats needed, plus you would be close to the wattage limit. The 1050 Ti doesn't require a power connector.

http://www.guru3d.com/files-get/display-driver-uninstaller-download,20.html

You'll download a compressed file called "[Guru3D.com]-DDU.zip"
Right click and choose extract.
Go into the folder and run the DDU v##.##.exe
This will extract more files to this folder.
Run Display Driver Uninstaller.exe
Choose Yes when it asks you to boot into SafeMode.
After you've rebooted into safe mode.
When DDU comes up, if it hasn't selected your GPU manufacturer (Nvidia/AMD/Intel) then choose it from the drop down list
Press the Clean and Restart option
If a window comes up asking to disable the Windows automatic installation of display drivers click yes.

After (or before removing the old drivers, just put the new ones on the desktop or somewhere handy) rebooting back into Windows, manually download the latest drivers from Nvidia or AMD, don't use auto detect, choose you GPU model and OS from the drop down lists.
