While playing Battlefield 1 and Fallout 4 my Cpu is always at 100% , and from what Ive researched this is considered a bottleneck. So Im wondering if this is true, or if Im missing something here. I also have lowered resolutions from 1080 to 720 and nothing changes, the Cpu usage is still at 100%. So Im thinking of upgrading to a 6700k. And btw my Gpu is averaging 40-70% usage as well.
Thanks for the insight.

Solution
If your setting are low it offloads the GPU work to the CPU. Turn off ShadowPlay or PlaystV.

Make the file 'user.cfg' in your Battlefield 1 folder and add whats below:

gametime.maxvariablefps 60
RenderDevice.RenderAheadLimit 1

BF1 is notorious for its brutality of 4 core cpus, it's one of the few games that really benefits from an i7 or even an FX 8 series or better.

FarCry 4 is about the same, much depends on the mods used, especially enb's can make even an i5 struggle.
